System Test Engineers (Manchester, England)

We are looking to recruit a number of intelligent, experienced and enthusiastic system test engineers. You will work as part of a team, will personally be immersed in both our technology and you will play a key role in ensuring the quality of our product releases. You will be expected to work pro-actively with others to resolve technical issues, be tenacious in your desire for quality and be capable of progressing our verification capability as well as testing our releases. Someone who has a thirst for knowledge, has a desire to be at the cutting edge of computing technology, thrives on responsibility and diversity, and relishes exposing product weaknesses will not find a more rewarding job opportunity anywhere.

Responsibilities:

• To design, implement and maintain test scenarios to capture typical customer workloads to ensure zero product release regressions and verification of new product capability.
• Identification and implementation of test automation opportunities and verification infrastructure improvements.
• Execution and analysis of test scenarios during product release cycles.
• Working closely and maintaining relationships with the other teams to identify and resolve product issues and provide technical guidance on a range of enterprise level applications.
• Contribute towards the future of the products as a key stakeholder in the review of new product capabilities.
• Assist in the building and maintaining of product solution knowledge bases.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or similar.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Dependable and trustworthy.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Strong knowledge of Linux or Solaris. System administration and other Unix experiences would be beneficial.
• Good knowledge of high-level languages such as Perl.
• Dynamic, pragmatic and an ability to multi-task.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team under pressure and to tight-deadlines.
• Product verification / system test experience beneficial but not essential.
