Mendel Rosenblum Chief Scientist, VMWareIn addition to his technology leadership role with VMware, Dr. Rosenblum is an Associate Professor of Computer Science, and, by courtesy, Electrical Engineering, at Stanford University, where his research focus is on system software and simulation systems for high performance computing architectures. He is involved in active operating systems research projects including The Collective - A Virtual Appliance Computing Infrastructure, and Merrimac - Stanford Streaming Supercomputer Project. Past programs included the FLASH (FLexible Architecture for SHared memory) multiprocessor project. He is part of the team that developed the Hive operating system, the SimOS machine simulator and the Disco virtual machine monitor. He holds a Ph.D. and M.S. in Computer Science from the University of California at Berkeley, and a B.A. in Mathematics from the University of Virginia. He has been honored with the ACM/SIGOPS Mark Weiser Award and as an Alfred P. Sloan Research Fellow. |
