Transitive® Celebrates Completion of Successful VMware Symposia Campaign by Announcing Apple MacBook WinnersFive VMware Symposia Attendees Win Transitive Prize Draw for Popular Apple MacBook Laptops, Following Worldwide Virtualization Roadshow LOS GATOS, CA, – July 30, 2007 – Transitive® Corporation, the leading provider of software that enables transportability of applications across multiple processor and operating system pairs, today announced the winners of its Apple MacBook prize draw, which was held during the recent VMware Symposia virtualization events, at which Transitive was a Silver Sponsor. The five MacBook winners are:
Transitive has been a Select level member of the VMware Technology Alliance Partner program since 2006, and its innovative QuickTransit® for Solaris™/SPARC®-to-Linux®/x86-64 solution is frequently deployed by customers within VMware virtualized environments. An evaluation version of QuickTransit is available for download from the Transitive Web site in a pre-built virtual appliance format. From May through July 2007, Transitive participated in a total of nine VMware Symposia events in the US, Canada, Japan and the UK, which attracted thousands of current and prospective VMware customers. The booth demonstrations included an Apple MacBook laptop running Transitive’s QuickTransit virtual appliance in a beta version of VMware’s forthcoming Fusion product, where native Solaris/SPARC applications were shown running in a virtual machine on an x86-based platform. Since all of Apple’s new-generation Intel-based Macs include the Rosetta translation technology (also developed by Transitive) which allows them to run thousands of applications developed for the older PowerPC-based Mac models, the demonstration previewed a unique solution capable of running applications created for three different platforms. “Transitive’s enterprise customers are discovering that QuickTransit is an excellent fit with VMware virtual infrastructure, because it allows them to consolidate legacy Solaris/SPARC applications along with all of their x86-based workloads, thereby increasing the return on their VMware investment” said Ian Robinson, Vice-President of Marketing for Transitive. “Transitive will continue to work closely with VMware and its channel partners to deliver innovative virtualization solutions for our mutual customers.” Transitive plans to demonstrate new QuickTransit virtual appliance solutions at the forthcoming VMworld 2007 conference, which will be held during September 11-13 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco. Transitive is a VMworld 2007 exhibitor and will be located at Booth #838. Availability and Licensing

“ The advantages of the virtualization trend are many and varied, but many datacenters may be forced to launch multiple virtualization strategies or expensive porting projects to account for the multiple platforms they maintain. Cross-platform virtualization eliminates this obstacle, allowing datacenters to take a single, simple approach to virtualization that delivers the maximum benefits from initiatives related to server consolidation, disaster recovery, energy efficiency, and legacy migration. By enabling immediate software migration to chosen strategic server platforms, we believe that Transitive can help eliminate much of the difficulty and expense that companies face when upgrading hardware.”
